Erythritol?

Erythritol is a sugar alcohol used to replace sugar as it has zero calories. It is found naturally in small amounts in many fruits and vegetables. Erythritol is about 70% as sweet as sugar, but has no calories and no impact on blood-sugar levels*.

Because we want to craft the best for you, our Erythritol comes from non-GMO corn. Using a fermentation process we extract erythritol from the corn sugar (glucose). The resulting Erythritol is then purified, dried and sieved, resulting in crunchy, great tasting crystals.

The human body simply does not absorb erythritol the way it normally does regular sugars.
This means your body won’t get any calories or carbs from it so it is a perfect option for any low carb or keto diet.

2. Good

for diabetics

Because erythritol does not get broken down by the human body, it also does not have an impact on blood sugar. This makes it a great fit for people with diabetes, as well as anyone else looking to control blood sugar.

3. Cooling

Effect

At Pure Via® we love Erythritol because of its crystallised texture, delicious sweetness, and naturality.
However, when Erythritol dissolves in your mouth, you may experience a cooling sensation called the ‘cooling effect’ which feels a little like a minty aftertaste: if this happens to you, know that it’s completely normal. Sugar does the same when it dissolves in your mouth to some extent but as we are used to it we do not even feel it. See our FAQ page for ways to reduce the cooling effect.
